Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye delegation consisting of Board Member Atty. Selami Açan and the accompanying delegation visited Antalya Airport Transit Area and made inspections on 12 May 2026 within the scope of National Preventive Mechanism mandate.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the authority of the center. Afterwards the delegation made observations and examinations by interviewing with detainees and the personnel in charge. As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of the detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.

Apart from the visit carried out by the delegation within the scope of the National Prevention Mechanism, a visit was also made to the Governor of Antalya, Mr. Hulusi Şahin.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
