A Follow-up Visit to Trabzon Ataköy Mental Health Hospital

The HREIT delegation conducted a follow-up visit to Trabzon Ataköy Mental Health Hospital as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on May 2, 2023.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the administration of the Hospital. Afterwards the delegation made observations and examinations by interviewing with detainees and the personnel in charge. Treatment to and accommodation conditions of the detainees were also examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
