The HREIT delegation conducted an unannounced visit to custody facilities of Şanlıurfa Provincial Police Department as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on September 26, 2023.
The visit started by getting information from the authorities. Within the scope of the visit, the treatment and accommodation conditions of the detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.
As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
