Israel's attacks against the Palestinian people, which have been continuing in Gaza since October 7, 2023, violating international law and humanitarian law norms, have led to a severe humanitarian crisis in the region, disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable, including children, women, and the elderly. The civilian population, who should be shielded from the devastating impacts of conflicts under international humanitarian law, now find themselves at the epicenter of these attacks.

To shed light on the gravity of the situation in Gaza, foster informed discussions, and elevate international responsiveness about the human rights violations transpiring in the region, the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye (HREIT) is going to organize an international webinar on January 10, 2024, called “Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza in the Context of International Human Rights Law.”

Within the scope of the webinar, a detailed analysis of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza will be presented and the relevant legal framework and international regulations will be discussed. In addition, the roles of all relevant actors in the process, particularly the role of National Human Rights Institutions will be discussed.
