The HREIT Delegation conducted an unannounced visit to Sabiha Gökçen Airport Inadmissible Passenger Department as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on 01.07.2024.
During the visit, information was first obtained from the authority of the center. Afterwards the delegation made observations and examinations by interviewing the detainees and personnel in charge. As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.
As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
