The Delegation of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye conducted an unannounced visit to Ankara Süleyman Demirel Nursing Home Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center on 19.01.2023 as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the authorities of the institution. Then, observations and examinations were made and interviews were held with the people staying in the institution and the personnel in charge. Within the scope of the visit, the treatment and accommodation conditions for those staying in the institution were examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
