Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye delegation consisting of Board Member Mehmet Altuntaş, Coordinators Abdulmuttalip Zararsız and Abdulhamit Yağmurcu, Judge Mustafa Coşar and Expert Zehra Güleç Kayış visited Esenboğa Airport transit area and made inspections on 15 May 2019 within the scope of National Preventive Mechanism mandate.
Within the scope of the visit, a courtesy visit to Esenbopa Airport Local Authority, Governor Mr. Murat Soylu was paid, information about the Institution's mandates and powers were given and ideas were exchanged. Later, the delegation inspected the areas in the international terminal where passengers who were prevented from entering our country for various reasons were detained and held interviews with those detained.
