HREIT Board Member Mehmet ALTUNTAŞ and the accompanying delegation made an unannounced visit to Van Kurubaş Removal Center on September 25, 2019 and one to Van Type M Closed Penitentiary Institution between September 26-27, 2019. Within the scope of the visits, monitoring activities regarding the institutions' compliance to national and international standards were carried out.
Within the scope of the visit, the administration staff and the convicts were interviewed individually. The delegation inspected the living and housing spaces of the detainees.
Following the visits, findings and observations will be turned into a report by the Institution and shared with the relevant institutions.
