HREIT delegation conducted an unannounced monitoring visit to Balıkesir Güre Elderly Care Centre as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on June 1, 2023.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the administration of the Cente. Then, observations and examinations were made by interviewing the elderly and staff. Treatment to and accommodation conditions of the elderly were also examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
