The Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye delegation, headed by the Board Members Atty. Fatma Çınar, Atty. Melahat Demir and Dr. Ömer Çelen conducted an unannounced follow-up visit to İstanbul Airport Inadmissible Passenger Unit as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on 20 August, 2025.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the authority of the center. As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
