The Delegation of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye headed by the Board Member Tayyip Uçar conducted an unannounced visit to Karabük Yücel Nursing Home and Elderly Care Center on 24 September 2025 as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the authorities of the center. Then, observations and examinations were made and interviews were held with the people staying in the center and the personnel in charge. Within the scope of the visit, the treatment and accommodation conditions for those staying in the center were examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public
