The HREIT delegation conducted an unannounced visit to the Psychiatry Service of Batman Training and Research Hospital as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on September 17, 2026.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the service authorities, followed by observations and examinations conducted through interviews with the patients staying in the Psychiatry Service and the personnel on duty.

As part of the visit, the treatment and accommodation conditions provided to these individuals were examined in the light of national and international standards.

A report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations made as a result of the visit and interviews will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
