HREIT Deputy President Muhammet Ecevit Carti Participated to the Meeting of Commission on Monitoring and Evaluating Children's Rights

Human Rights and Equality Institution Deputy President Muhammet Ecevit Carti participated to 2026 Meeting of Commission on Monitoring and Evaluating Children's Rights at Ankara held under the chairpersonship of Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş on 1 July 2026.

Within the scope of the meeting, opinions were exchanged on Türkiye's Child Rights Strategy Document and Action Plan (2023-2028) and Action Plan for Empowering Children in the Digital World (2026-2030).

HREIT Deputy President Carti shared activities on children's rights held within the scope of the aforementioned action plan and HREIT's findings and recommendations in this aspect. 

Within this framework, our activities, including the examination of individual applications for protection of children against discrimination, training activities in the field of children's rights, redress mechanisms and prohibition of discrimination, efforts to increase social awareness, and meetings of the Commission on Combating Discrimination Consultation held with the participation of relevant institutions and organizations, were shared with the participants. 

During the meeting, it was mentioned that agenda items such as protection of children's rights in digital world, combating child labor and children's access to justice as well as issues addressed within the scope of children's were included in annual report and thematic report works. 

Moreover, it was stated that storybooks, guides, and games designed to reinforce children's rights and explain them to children of different age groups were shared with children both on the official HREIT Children's website and in printed form. 

On the other hand, it was highlighted that our Institution would increase its institutional capacity within the scope of increasing works in the field of children's rights and new works under different headings would be added to the works conducted in this field.
