The Delegation consist of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye and a member of the Provincial Human Rights Board headed by the Board Member Atty. Fatma Çınar, conducted an unannounced follow-up visit to the Gaziantep Removal Center between March 31 - April 1 2026, as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate.
During the visit, information was first obtained from the center's officials, and observations and examinations were made in the context of national and international standards by holding meetings with foreigners and staff.
As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public. As part of the visit, the Board Member paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Public Prosecutor of Gaziantep, Mr. İsmail Karataş.
