HREIT Board Member Atty. Selami Açan and the accompanying delegation made an unannounced visit to Alanya Closed Prison on May 13-14, 2026 within the scope of national preventive mechanism mandate. During the visit, information was first obtained from the authority of the center. 

Afterwards the delegation made observations andexaminations by interviewing those who are deprived of their liberties and the personnel in charge. As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of detainees were examined in the context of national and internationalstandards. 

In addition to the visit within the scope of the National Prevention Mechanism, the delegation also paid visits to the Chief Public Prosecutor of Alanya, Dr. Ali Öztürk, and the District Governor, Şakir Öner Öztürk.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and sharedwith the relevant institutions and the public.
