A delegation of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye, headed by Board Member Atty. Erol Gökdöl conducted an unannounced follow-up visit to Kahramanmaraş Türkoğlu No.1 L-Type Closed Penitentiary Institution on 11-12 August 2026, within the scope of its duties as the National Preventive Mechanism.During the visit, information was first obtained from the authority of the center. Afterwards the delegation made observations and examinations by interviewing those who are deprived of their liberties and the personnel in charge.

As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.

Within the framework of the visit, the Board Member paid courtesy visit to Bülent Delibalta, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor of Kahramanmaraş.

As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
