HREIT Vice-chairman Ömer Faruk DİLGEN and the accompanying delegation conducted an unannounced monitoring visit to Midyat M Type Open Penal Institution as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on May 05,2025.

During the visit, information was first obtained from the officials of the Institution. Then, observations and examinations were made by interviewing detainees and staff members. Treatment and living conditions for detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.

As a result of visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and public.
