The Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye delegation, headed by the Board Member Att. Fatma Çınar conducted an unannounced visit to Şebşnkarahisar K2 Type Closed and Open Penitentiary Institution as part of its national preventive mechanism mandate on 22 October, 2025.

During the visit, first information was obtained from the authority of the center. Afterwards the delegation made observations and examinations by interviewing those who are deprived of their liberties and the personnel in charge. As part of the visit, treatment and accommodation conditions of detainees were examined in the context of national and international standards.
As a result of the visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and the public. 

Following the visit, as part of the courtesy meetings, our Board Member paid visits to Governor of Giresun Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti and Chief Public Prosecutor of Giresun Zeynel Abidin Akkiraz.
