A delegation from the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye conducted an unannounced visit to the Manisa E-Type Closed Penitentiary Institution on 8–9 September 2026 within the scope of its mandate as the National Preventive Mechanism.

During the visit, the delegation first received information from the authorities of the institution, held interviews with the staff, and carried out observations and on-site inspections. The treatment of persons deprived of their liberty and their conditions of accommodation were examined in light of relevant national and international standards. Following the visit, interviews and examinations conducted, a report containing the delegation’s findings and recommendations will be shared with the relevant institutions and the public.
