The Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye Delegation, chaired by Board Member Atty. Fatma Çınar, conducted an unannounced visit to the Balıkesir Removal Center on November 12, 2025, as part of its National Preventive Mechanism mission. 

During the visit, information was first obtained from the authority of the center. Afterwards the delegation made observations and examinations, in accordance with national and international standards, by interviewing those who are deprived of their liberties and the personnel in charge.

As a result of visit and interviews, a report containing the findings and recommendations regarding the examinations will be prepared and shared with the relevant institutions and public.

Following the visit, our Board Member paid a courtesy visit to Governor of Balıkesir İsmail Ustaoğlu.
